“As age don’t measure maturity, grades also don’t measure intelligence”

During this quarantine mode for the past couple of weeks, I had all these thoughts that are sitting in my head. I labeled them shower thoughts; Since most of the ideas is coming when I was taking a shower 😃 🚿

There be more of this kind of story that will be coming in the future. So basically it’s a type of story where I’ll share with you a particular topic that is bothering me. So to start this first chapter of shower thought, I will start with one simple sentence:

Humans are being groomed to be a general-purpose machine, yet there is no a single job that requires you to do all

For those of you who know me very well. I’m a person who is very skeptical about the education system. One of the factors that made me skeptical is the notion of the smarts and the stupids. If you are on average getting a good grade for most of the subjects — congratulations, you’re smart. But if you fail in several subjects, even though you have the best grade for one in particular — you’re still considered as stupid.

I don’t stand with this idea. What am I trying to say is
you are not stupid if you can’t do Math, you’re just bad at doing it. It just happens that one thing that you can do best
is not Math! As simple as that.

So this is for you who live your life until now and believe that you’re stupid: please stop. Change your perspective. In conventional school, if you’re good at arts, you’re not gonna be considered to be a smart student. But! If you are in an art school, you could be a genius. I have plenty of friends that are labeled bad graders, yet I still learn something from ’em and they still teach something that I haven’t known. Something that school doesn’t teach. I have a friend for example that really knows how an engine works, one friend teaches me how to maintain a good relationship with business partners. They’ve both been labeled as “stupid” in school.

Humans are not a computer or general-purpose machines that should excel in doing a lot of things. We can just focus on one thing that we excel at. You can’t be a genius in every subject of life, that’s nearly impossible. That’s why there is no single job up till now that requires you to master all skills that are existed in this world.

So remember
you are not stupid, you’re just good at something else. You are smart in your own way 😃 Go find your “you’re smart”.
