“The great growling engine of change, technology.” — Alvin Toffler (American Writer)

Welcome to my fifth shower thought story. It’s been a while since I last write this type of story. It’s a story where I try to share with you about a particular topic that is bothering me. Usually, this thought is coming when I’m taking a shower; hence the name. Let’s start with this simple sentence:

Technology as an application can't stand by itself.

Technology as a product, or in this case as an application will always intersect with one or more concepts or fields. If you develop an app for social media, there’s human psychology in it. Online games are related to one entertainment along with art & graphics. This platform, Medium — will definitely fall under literacy.

Technology applications are made to make what humans do to be easier, faster, and more efficient. I think that’s the main reason why it is almost impossible for a technology application to not intersect with one of the aspects that humans do.

It’s a privilege being a software engineer in this modern era cause they get to learn this other knowledge or concept related to the app that they developed. Once my professor said: “software engineer is a never-ending learning career”. I think it’s true.

So what do you think? Can you point out to me an application where there are no other aspects attached to it at all?

I dare you…
