“FOMO” — Serambi Penjual
I finally got to do this, huh? 😂 We just did our farewell yesterday, but in case I forgot to tell somethin’, this is the story. Here goes!
I joined Tokopedia to find the “next level” of web development, but little did I know that I got so much more. I’ve learned and grown in 2 years. One thing is scalability. The scope of Tokopedia websites and the services they offer are massive. We have ginormous lines of code in a single web app repository. Seeing how it scales has broadened my perspective and convinced me of the potential web development could bring to the frontend area.
Secondly, about monitoring; The web app here is cared for. So much so that all the monitoring and alerts are very exhaustive. If there’s any issue in production, it will get caught pretty quickly.
Last but not least, the thing that I will miss the most… is the people and the superb team I was on. “Serambi penjual” or more collectively WPE Seller Team. We discussed a lot of things. From the code design, and folder structure, all the way to everything in life. I’m gonna miss butting heads with a certain person. I’m gonna miss refactoring and developing modules with a certain person. I’m gonna miss the One Piece talks with some people. I’m gonna miss going out and eating “head soup” with a certain person. I’m gonna miss collaborating on a joke with a certain person. I’m gonna miss a certain pervy smile from a certain person. I’m gonna miss playing and talking about basketball with a certain person. You know who you all are 😛
This story is my way to show my gratitude towards a team who welcomed me and accompanied my journey in tkpd. Sorry if I hurt your feelings with this “julid” mouth of mine 🙏 Please know that it was never intended 😂 I wish you all the best for your future endeavors. Let all still be connected and don’t hesitate to ping me for anything! You know where to find me 😏
I decided to leave my previous company to find a place where my work is appreciated. At that time, when people asked me whether it was a good decision, I couldn’t answer. Because I have to experience it firsthand to make a proper assessment. Now, I can confidently say this to my past self: it is a DAMN good decision.
